Ground floor

The Open Space on the ground floor is magical. The Open Space is used for larger presentations, inspiration days, or debates. Sometimes, the Open Space serves as the kickoff for an event, after which participants move to various breakout rooms. Artists also create goosebumps when their performances resonate through the dome.

Often Combined With

the Koepel

The former Koepel Prison of Haarlem has undergone a remarkable transformation. Following the civic initiative by Haarlem entrepreneur Jacqueline van de Sande to give the Koepel a public function, architect Andre van Stigt has brilliantly revitalized the building from 1901.

However, the transformation of the Koepel is not just about bricks and mortar. The building is gaining a new significance, evolving from a closed prison to a public tech campus where students, talent, professionals, entrepreneurs, and other visitors enrich themselves with culture, study, and work towards the future of their businesses or careers.

The Koepel houses the Filmkoepel with 6 cinema halls, a bar, restaurant, and hotel, the gaming museum Level One, Haarlem Campus with soon 650 bachelor’s and master’s students, workshop spaces, a media hub with film, photo, and podcast studios, office space, digitization labs, office studios, and 1,000 m² of co-working and learning space.
